Big Lots Recalls 30K Bunk Beds After Toddler's Death

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 7:23 PM EDT) -- Big Lots Inc. is recalling 30,000 Chinese-imported metal futon beds following the death of a 3-year-old whose head and neck became entrapped in one of the beds, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

While the Burlington, Iowa, boy died in March 2010, the CPSC said it was his death that prompted Big Lots' voluntary recall, which it is issuing in conjunction with the agency.
