Iowa State Lodges Suit Against Monsanto

Law360 (May 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Iowa State University Research Foundation Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Monsanto Company, alleging the seed giant infringed on its patent for creating soybeans that lower the amount of trans fats in foods.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, seeks—among other things—a declaration that no settlement was reached during meetings between the parties held earlier this year.
