Ex-Terra Prez Can’t Toss US Witness In Haiti Bribery Case

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 5:16 PM EDT) -- A former Terra Telecommunications Corp. president lost his bid Monday to bar a government expert witness from his upcoming Florida trial over charges that he took part in a scheme to bribe officials at Haiti's state-owned telecommunications company.

U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez denied Joel Esquenazi's motion to strike both the government's money laundering expert and its request for notice of the defense's progress in finding an expert of its own, finding that "the defendants have had ample opportunity to obtain a rebuttal expert."...
