Bush Says No To NOPEC

Law360, New York (May 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- President George Bush would likely veto the NOPEC bill designed to allow the U.S. Department of Justice to launch antitrust suits against international oil cartels, the White House announced on Tuesday.

“This bill has the potential to lead to oil supply disruptions and an escalation in the price of gasoline, natural gas, home heating oil and other sources of energy,” the White House said.
