Transocean Says BP Lapses Caused Deepwater Disaster

Law360, New York (June 22, 2011, 1:54 PM EDT) -- Transocean Ltd. pointed the finger at BP PLC in an internal report on the Deepwater Horizon disaster released Wednesday, saying the rig operator was responsible for the decisions that led to the worst oil spill in U.S. history.

The companies locked horns over liability in the days and weeks following the incident last April, and have since tried to assign blame to one another in lawsuits filed in the Louisiana-based multidistrict litigation over the accident.
