Enviro Group Threatens To Sue EPA Over Black Carbon

Law360, New York (June 23, 2011, 1:28 PM EDT) -- The Center for Biological Diversity warned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday that it planned to sue the agency for failing to develop water quality standards addressing black carbon pollution on sea ice and glaciers.

The 60-day notice of intent lodged by the CBD follows its February 2010 petition asking the EPA to establish criteria under the Clean Water Act targeting the airborne particles generated from the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels, biofuels and biomass.
