EPA Sets New Time Table For Boiler Air Standards

Law360, New York (June 24, 2011, 5:34 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Friday that it would propose updated standards for toxic air pollution from boilers and certain solid waste incinerators by October.

In a statement, the agency said it would issue final standards intended to reduce emissions of harmful pollutants such as mercury by the end of April 2012.

“This is the best approach to put in place technically and legally sound standards that will bring significant health benefits to the American public,” the EPA said.
