U.S. Energy Future Is In Coal-To-Liquid Fuel: Bill

Law360, New York (May 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Though renewable fuels, such as cellulosic ethanol, have recently engaged the congressional debate, U.S. Senators Craig Thomas and Jim Bunning asked that the country not forget about coal in a bill introduced on Monday.

The bill would create a separate blending mandate for coal-derived fuels that Thomas (R-Wyo.) and Bunning (R-Ky.) say would equal a renewable fuels mandate for cellulosic ethanol that was recently approved by the Senate Energy Committee.
