US Pushes China To Open Markets At Mid-Year Meeting

Law360, New York (June 28, 2011, 5:13 PM EDT) -- U.S. trade officials urged China to open additional markets to American goods and services at a meeting in Beijing on Tuesday, cautioning that the commercial relationship with its key Asian trading partner faces hurdles.

“We are focused on creating a balanced and healthy U.S.-China trade relationship and we believe China should take steps to open more markets to American goods and services,” said Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sánchez. “We face challenges that need to be addressed in our commercial relationship.”
