Obama Taps FDIC Director For Top Bank Regulator Post

Law360, New York (July 1, 2011, 5:42 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama said Friday he would nominate Thomas J. Curry, a director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., to fill a vacant position at the helm of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which regulates U.S. national banks.

Obama also said he intended to tap Mary John Miller, currently the U.S. Treasury Department's Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets, to be the department's under secretary for domestic finance, along with other appointments announced Friday.
