House Paves Path For Energy, Flood Insurance Measures

Law360, New York (July 8, 2011, 8:54 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House on Friday passed rules that would pave the way for votes on a bill to fund the U.S. Department of Energy as well as the federal government's flood insurance program.

House members debated the two measures on the floor before ultimately approving the rules, setting them for voting on each bill. Under the resolutions, members will debate each bill for an hour, followed by an opportunity for amendments before a full House vote.
