AG Calls For Frost Brown Removal From Marathon Suit

Law360 (May 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Kentucky Attorney General Gregory D. Stumbo on Thursday insisted Frost Brown Todd LLC should be disqualified from representing Marathon Petroleum Co. LLC in the Marathon Oil Corp. subsidiary's lawsuit against the commonwealth of Kentucky due to conflicts of interest.

Stumbo said that the firm is ineligible to represent Marathon, whose parent corporation is an integrated energy company with 2006 revenues totaling $65 billion, because the firm is retained by Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher and that creates “an incurable conflict of interest.”
