ITC To Probe Freescale’s Chip Patent Claims

Law360, New York (July 11, 2011, 5:02 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission agreed Monday to launch an investigation into imports of certain integrated circuits and chip sets used in televisions that Freescale Semiconductor Inc. says are infringing on one of its patents.

Freescale filed a complaint with the ITC on June 8, accusing three companies of improperly importing the integrated circuits and chips into the U.S., including Japan's Funai Electric Co. Ltd. and its U.S. unit, as well as Taiwan's MediaTek Inc. and California-based Zoran Corp.
