US Works Out 2nd ESA Deal With Wildlife Group

Law360, New York (July 12, 2011, 5:02 PM EDT) -- The Center for Biological Diversity said Tuesday it would drop its opposition to a settlement between the U.S. government and WildEarth Guardians after striking its own deal with regulators over deadlines for hundreds of Endangered Species Act determinations.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Center asked U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan to approve a settlement agreement that imposes a 2018 deadline on the agency for deciding whether to grant endangered species protection to 757 species.
