China Could Become Hotbed For "Generic Viagra" Exports, Lobbyist Claims

Law360, New York (November 16, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- China could become a base for generic Viagra exports if the country doesn’t reinstate Pfizer Inc.’s patent rights to the erectile dysfunction drug, a U.S. lobbyist has told Chinese officials.

The wider financial implications of the patent loss exceed those posed by the denied access to the potentially massive China market, Mickey Kantor, who served as Commerce Secretary and U.S. Trade Representative under former President Bill Clinton, told Dow Jones Newswires.
