Labor's Time For A Bailout?

Law360, New York (July 18, 2011, 2:52 PM EDT) -- In June 2011, the Democratic majority on the U.S. National Labor Relations Board proposed at least 12 different changes to its existing rules and regulations that govern union election processes. Though the board’s stated purpose in proposing these changes was to “streamline pre- and post-election procedures” and “reduce unnecessary litigation,” it seems clear that the overall effect of these changes will be to speed up elections and shift the “balance of power” in favor of unions.
