EBay Strikes Deal In E-Commerce Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 1:14 PM EDT) -- Online auction giant EBay Inc. and its subsidiary PayPal Inc. buried the hatchet Tuesday in Virginia with a patent-holding company that accused them of misusing its e-commerce technology.

U.S. District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema dismissed the case with prejudice, after the parties filed a joint motion to dismiss. Each party will pay its own attorneys' fees and costs, though further details of the settlement were kept under wraps.

Representatives for the parties could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
