Democrats Seek To "Right" Ledbetter Ruling

Law360 (May 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Congressional Democrats have vowed to remove what they call an unacceptable obstacle to employee pay discrimination claims caused by a Supreme Court decision which subjected claims to a six-month statute of limitations.

Senators Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.), Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) said they will introduce legislation next week to clarify federal law to state that the statute of limitations under Title VII would restart for each payment of a discriminatory wage.
