NLRB Election Plan Attacks Employer Rights, Attys Say

Law360, New York (July 18, 2011, 9:12 PM EDT) -- Management attorneys on Monday urged the National Labor Relations Board to reconsider a proposal to speed up the union election process, contending the measure will hamper employer rights and decrease the high number of consent elections.

“The proposed rules which have brought us here today do not push the envelope; rather, they blow up that envelope and do violence” to the National Labor Relations Act, said Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP attorney Charles I. Cohen, a former NLRB board member.
