EC Scrutinizes Crash Test Dummy Merger

Law360, New York (May 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A possible merger between two of the world's largest crash-test dummy manufacturers has bumped into regulatory trouble with the European Commission, which on Wednesday opened an in-depth investigation into whether the deal would create a monopoly.

British investment group HgCapital first notified the Commission on April 18 that it planned to buy up U.S.-based Denton ATD, the second largest manufacturer of anthropomorphic test devices in the world.
