Insurer Wants Drywall Defense Costs From Knauf

Law360, New York (July 19, 2011, 5:54 PM EDT) -- North River Insurance Co. on Monday filed suit in Louisiana against Chinese manufacturer Knauf International GmbH, seeking to recover costs related to defending claims brought against it in litigation over Knauf’s defective drywall.

North River is facing numerous claims as a liability insurer of Interior/Exterior Building Supply LP, which resold Knauf and its subsidiaries’ defective drywall in the U.S. and has been sued by hundreds of claimants in federal court.
