Ex-Morgan Crucible CEO Wants High Court Review

Law360, New York (July 20, 2011, 9:01 PM EDT) -- Morgan Crucible Co. PLC CEO Ian Norris, currently in prison for obstructing a price-fixing investigation, asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday to review whether persuading a person to decline to provide incriminating information to authorities constitutes witness-tampering under federal law.

“This interpretation of the federal witness-tampering statute not only conflicts with the law in other circuits, but is deeply flawed and inconsistent with the adversary system of justice,” Norris said in a petition for a writ of certiorari.
