Policy Seller Evades Contempt Ruling In Pruco Suit

Law360, New York (July 22, 2011, 4:19 PM EDT) -- A Florida magistrate judge refused Friday to hold an insurance producer in contempt for his failure to testify in Pruco Life Insurance Co.’s suit over his former company’s allegedly fraudulent sale of an invalid $10 million life insurance policy.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry Seltzer shot down Pruco’s request to issue a contempt order against former Infinity Financial Group LLC principal Steven Brasner, ruling that the insurer failed to consult Brasner and his attorney before making multiple attempts to depose him.
