Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 12:49 PM EDT) -- In early April 2011, Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas tossed out a $625.5 million damages award against Apple Inc. in a patent infringement case involving document management and display systems in the Mac OS X operating system. While the jury in Mirror Worlds LLC v. Apple Inc., Case No. 08cv88, (U.S. District Court E.D. Texas), found that Apple had infringed three patents, Judge Davis vacated the damages award.
