Free Trade Pacts On Hold For Now, GOP Lawmaker Says

Law360, New York (July 27, 2011, 3:46 PM EDT) -- The chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Ways and Means announced Wednesday that lawmakers would not be able to pass bills implementing long-delayed free trade pacts with Panama, Colombia and South Korea before Congress' upcoming August recess.

In remarks to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., said that debt ceiling negotiations had delayed progress on the trade pacts, but he also outlined a process for congressional passage of the bills.
