Judge Scoffs At UnitedHealth's Bid To Toss Case

Law360, New York (June 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a mocking response to UnitedHealth Group's motion to dismiss a securities class action over options backdating, a judge has ruled the case against the company was the stuff of Hollywood films, and “incredibly simple” if true.

Minnesota District Judge James M. Rosenbaum shrugged off arguments by UnitedHealth that the plaintiffs, who allege securities law breaches through the backdating of stock options, had failed to state a claim.
