Siemens Escapes Argentine Whistleblower's Tort Suit

Law360, New York (July 29, 2011, 9:53 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Thursday tossed a suit from a former Argentine government investigator who says he was brutally beaten for trying to blow the whistle on a bribery scheme involving Siemens AG and state officials.

U.S. District Judge Patricia A. Seitz said that the former investigator, Carlos A. Moran Hidalgo, and his family failed to serve Siemens and the Argentine officials after having been granted two extensions. The judge refused to provide a third.
