Ford Recalls 1.1M Pickups Over Fuel Tank Fire Hazard

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 7:54 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. is recalling 1.1 million pickup trucks due to defective straps that could cause fuel tanks to catch fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Monday.

The recall comes on the heels of the NHTSA's announcement that it was expanding its investigation into reportedly faulty wheel studs in 2010 Ford Fusion sedans.
