EPA Beefs Up Chemical Reporting Requirements

Law360, New York (August 2, 2011, 5:45 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday unveiled a final rule increasing the information about commercial chemicals that it collects from manufacturers to help identify risks to public health and the environment.

The EPA also said the Chemical Data Reporting Rule, proposed in August 2010 as the Inventory Update Reporting Modifications Rule, also requires companies to electronically submit information to the regulator and limits confidentiality claims that would restrict public access to the information.
