Patent Reform Bill Raises Concerns

Law360, New York (June 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Patent Reform Act of 2007 came before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, fueling the ongoing controversy over how to best reform U.S. patent laws.

Twenty-one of 22 members in the Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property voted to send the bill into the committee, reflecting the enthusiasm of many legislators and businesses for the reform.

But the bill’s opponents feel strongly that it fails to address key problems, while creating new ones.
