UK To Create Digital Copyright Marketplace

Law360, New York (August 3, 2011, 4:53 PM EDT) -- The U.K.'s intellectual property regulator on Wednesday introduced a series of sweeping reforms aimed at modernizing the country's copyright laws while easing restrictions on the use of protected works.

The U.K. Intellectual Property Office said it planned to revamp the country's copyrighting system by creating a digital license purchasing forum and authorizing a number of copyright exceptions that would free up certain works.
