Another Benefit To Free Trade Agreements

Law360, New York (August 3, 2011, 2:51 PM EDT) -- With the lingering — and sometimes heated — political debate surrounding congressional approval of the United States-Colombia and United States-Panama free trade agreements, most of the comments center on whether those pacts are good for the American economy. Do they contribute to or diminish our gross domestic product? Do they hinder or improve job creation? And do they actually improve bilateral relations to the extent that we see a meaningful improvement in exports and imports?

From a political and economic standpoint, those are valid questions worthy...
