Apple Targeted In Patent Suit Over Booting Method

Law360, New York (August 5, 2011, 6:45 PM EDT) -- Operating Systems Solutions LLC slapped Apple Inc. with a lawsuit Friday in Florida federal court, claiming the company's laptops employ an operating system that infringes a patent for a quick-booting method.

Fernandina Beach, Fla.-based Operating Systems Solutions claims that Apple's products, including but not limited to the MacBook Pro laptops that use the Mac OSX operating system, violate U.S. Patent Number R840,092, titled “Method for quickly booting a computer system.”
