ALA, Enviros Ask DC Circ. To Speed EPA's Ozone Rules

Law360, New York (August 8, 2011, 6:48 PM EDT) -- The American Lung Association and several environmental groups on Monday asked the D.C. Circuit to order the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to immediately finalize new standards for ozone emissions they say have been unjustifiably delayed.

The ALA and its co-petitioners — the Environmental Defense Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council, National Parks Conservation Association and Appalachian Mountain Club — say the EPA's four requests to extend a deadline to strengthen a 2008 Clean Air Act standard for ground-level ozone are “utterly inexcusable.”
