Aluminum Processing Co. Settles Enviros' Waste Suit

Law360, New York (August 10, 2011, 6:37 PM EDT) -- Tennessee Aluminum Processors Inc. reached a settlement Tuesday in a suit brought by an environmental group that puts to rest claims that TAP violated environmental laws by operating an open dump of aluminum slag waste that contaminated public utilities.

The Association Concerned Over Resources and Nature Inc. filed a joint motion with TAP asking U.S. District Judge William Haynes to approve the settlement, which calls for TAP to perform regular waste removal and conduct groundwater sampling.
