Canadian Antitrust Watchdog To Update Merger Remedies

Law360, New York (August 12, 2011, 4:22 PM EDT) -- Canada's competition watchdog said Thursday it planned to update its merger remedy guidelines based on a recent review of the antitrust fixes it required on deals dating back to the mid-1990s.

The Competition Bureau studied remedies imposed in merger reviews from 1995 to 2005 in a bid to find out how to make its investigations and remedy policies more effective.
