Boastful Ex-Kasowitz Lawyer Sues Firm For $78M

Law360, San Diego (August 16, 2011, 7:56 PM EDT) -- A first-year associate at Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP who was fired after sending an email to partners boasting of his “superior legal mind” sued the firm and two of its attorneys for nearly $78 million in New York on Monday.

Gregory Berry said the firm misrepresented that it encouraged independent and creative thinking from its attorneys and eschewed a hierarchical structure, engaged in “possibly fraudulent billing practices,” and violated his separation agreement, in addition to several other claims.
