Electronics Retail Chain Files For Chapter 11

Law360 (June 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Facing mounting financial challenges, consumer electronics retail chain Tweeter Home Entertainment Group Inc. filed for Chapter 11 protection on Monday.

Tweeter, which filed a voluntary petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware along with seven of its subsidiaries, said the bankruptcy filing was made in an effort “to address its financial challenges and support its ongoing efforts to evolve its home installation and services business model.” It has asked the bankruptcy court to jointly administer all of the bankruptcy cases.
