Motorola, Microsoft Train Fire On Experts At ITC Trial

Law360, Washington (August 22, 2011, 4:24 PM EDT) -- Proceedings in Microsoft Corp.'s U.S. International Trade Commission patent case against Motorola Solutions Inc. over smartphone technology kicked off Monday with attorneys pressing expert witnesses on separating prior art from claimed innovations.

The technology companies have been battling over patent rights in both the ITC and in federal courts, and the case is the first of a spate of recent suits between the companies to make it to trial. The ITC's hearing in the case is slated to run through Aug. 31.
