CFTC Taps Linklaters' Barnett For Swap Oversight Role

Law360, New York (August 22, 2011, 5:27 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Monday it had lured Linklaters LLP partner Gary Barnett, a derivatives expert who most recently helped financial sector clients set up clearing systems, to serve as director of the agency's Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight.

Barnett's mission will be to help the agency fulfill its expanded responsibilities under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the CFTC said.
