Indemnity Claims Rival Spreads Lies To Steal Clients

Law360, Chicago (August 23, 2011, 3:24 PM EDT) -- Hospitality and entertainment insurance underwriter Indemnity Insurance Corp. slapped rival Fairmont Insurance Brokers Ltd. and a Fairmont agent with a lawsuit last week in Washington accusing them of spreading lies about Indemnity's financial health in order to steal its clientele.

Indemnity, a risk retention group, alleges in its Aug. 16 complaint that Fairmont and agent Brad Sharon have and are continuing to mislead Indemnity policyholders about its business practices and performance and that the two have been using other shady tactics to keep Fairmont competitive....
