ImClone Fires Counsel Following Sanctions

Law360, New York (June 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pharmaceutical company ImClone Inc. said on Tuesday that it would no longer employ Kenyon & Kenyon LLP as its defense counsel in its patent litigation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and rival company Repligen Corp.

A court order on Friday found that attorneys at Kenyon & Kenyon and ImClone's staff attorney had tried to intimidate one of MIT's witnesses, Dr. Stephen Gillies. It imposed sanctions on both the company and its counsel.
