Energizer Prevails In Gillette's Patent Suit In Germany

Law360, New York (December 3, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A German court has ruled for Energizer Holding’s Schick unit in rival Gillette Co.’s patent infringement lawsuit over the company’s four-bladed Quattro razor.

The court ruled that the Quattro, marketed by Schick's German affiliate, Wilkinson Sword GmBH, did not infringe Gillette's European patent regarding three-bladed progressive exposure.

In addition, the German court ordered Gillette to reimburse Energizer's court costs.

Earlier this year, Gillette withdrew a motion for preliminary injunction against the Quattro and Intuition razors after the court indicated it would deny Gillette's request.
