EPA Slow To Improve Lab Efficiency, GAO Says

Law360, New York (August 24, 2011, 3:35 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has failed to address inefficiencies in its nationwide system of science laboratories, despite having access to several independent reports detailing weaknesses, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said in a report released Wednesday.

The government watchdog examined the EPA's management of its laboratories at the request of Rep. Brad Miller, D-N.C., a member of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
