3 Novozymes Products Added Back To Ethanol IP Suit

Law360, Washington (August 24, 2011, 4:45 PM EDT) -- Biotechnology company Novozymes AS won a second shot Wednesday at proving infringement in three additional products in its Wisconsin patent suit against rival Danisco AS over a variant of the enzyme alpha amylase, which is used in making fuel ethanol.

Denmark-based Novozymes originally sued its Danish competitor in May, claiming that Danisco and its units Genencor International Wisconsin Inc., Danisco US Inc. and Danisco USA Inc. infringed its patent through their manufacture and sale of GC358, an alpha amylase used in dry grind ethanol production....
