Weil Gotshal Advises Verizon In CloudSwitch Buy

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 3:49 PM EDT) -- Verizon Communications Inc. announced Thursday that it had bought enterprise cloud computing company CloudSwitch Inc. in a bid to enhance its own hybrid cloud and cloud-to-cloud offerings.

Verizon said it would combine its new purchase with its Terremark Worldwide unit, an information technology services provider. The deal is aimed at simplifying the telecommunications giant's move to the enterprise cloud — in which information is stored online rather than on a company's computers — and boosting industry adoption, it said.
