FWS Seeks New Input On Gray Wolf Delisting

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 3:29 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Thursday it would once again accept public comment on a proposal to strip Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves in the western Great Lakes region, in order to take into account newly released information.

The May 5 proposal to remove gray wolves in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin and portions of adjoining states from the ESA follows earlier delisting attempts that environmental groups successfully challenged in court.
