Gibson Guitars Slams DOJ's Seizure Of Wood Imports

Law360, New York (August 26, 2011, 2:39 PM EDT) -- Gibson Guitar Corp.'s Nashville, Tenn., headquarters was raided Wednesday by federal agents who seized imported wood and guitars in a criminal investigation into whether Gibson illegally harvested hardwoods from protected forests in Madagascar and India, an action the company said amounted to bullying.

The raid was the second time the U.S. has raided the famous guitar maker, first seizing guitars and stocks of ebony slated for use in guitar fret boards in November 2009. The U.S. opened a federal court case, United States of America v....
