Thai Airways Fined Over Deceptive Fare Ads

Law360, New York (August 29, 2011, 5:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation said Thursday that Thai Airways had been fined $70,000 over allegations that it subjected consumers searching for flights on its website to deceptive price advertising.

The DOT's Aviation Enforcement Office found shortcomings with the initial fares that the airline advertised on its site to consumers looking for international round-trip flights originating in the U.S.
