Enviros Sue To Force EPA Action On Haze Plans

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 1:19 PM EDT) -- Environmental groups sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington on Monday for allegedly failing to finalize or act on plans for dozens of states to reduce air pollution that causes haze in national parks and wilderness areas.

A coalition of nine groups including the National Parks Conservation Association and the Sierra Club argued in the complaint that the EPA has blown a Jan. 15 deadline for issuing final plans for 34 states and territories.
